The St. Augustine's congregation is passionate about supporting the needs of the Washington County community and beyond.
Here are the organizations we currently support.
Established in 1987, Welcome House supports the homeless or at risk of homelessness in Washington County.
St. A's has supported this effort for many years. Bring your paper goods and cleaning items to church any Sunday and they will be delivered.
South County Social Justice Coalition (SCSJ) is open to all, and they are committed to helping organizations address issues of equity, diversity, and cultural responsiveness.
Founded in 1990, South County Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing. St. A's seeks to further this mission by volunteering their services and providing financial support to build homes, community, and hope.
Rhody Outpost is URI’s principal basic needs pantry for students experiencing food insecurity. Formed as a collaboration between URI and St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church, it provides fresh and non-perishable food and personal care items at no charge to students.
Bring your non-perishable items to our church and leave them in our Rhody Outpost shed.
St. A's continues its active commitment to the care of the environment - from local practices to wider ranging policies. Check out our Creation Care bulletin board for updates and actions.
Tabitha's Closet is a clothing ministry offered at nearby Peace Dale Congregational Church.
Throughout the year, Tabitha's Closet is prominently featured in our weekly newsletter and congregation members provide clothing donations and volunteer services as well.
