All are called to serve
We understand that ALL the baptized are ministers of the Gospel. That means we all have a part to play in our common life of faith.
St. A's boasts many active ministries that are always open to anyone who feels called to serve.

Pastoral Care
This ministry tends to the material and spiritual needs of the congregation, especially when folks fall on hard times.
The Pastoral Care team assists with rides, meals, and visits to homebound community members. We meet monthly to coordinate our care and pray for this community.

Our Garden, Our Sanctuary
The Gardening Ministry is a labor of love for both the passionate and the practical gardener. Our team of committed parishioners values the importance of water, food, sun, and fertile soil to create a stunning display of flowers throughout the spring, summer, and fall seasons.
We invite you to visit our gardens anytime.
15 Lower College Road, Kingston, RI
In the garden we cultivate not just plants, but also the joy of life.

Altar Guild: A Spiritual Ministry
The St. Augustine's Altar Guild prepares, maintains, and reverently cares for the altar, sacred vessels, linens, and vestments used during worship. Members also supervise the decoration of the sanctuary with flowers or greens appropriate for the season.
This ministry works humbly behind the scenes to make the presence of God glorious for all who worship at St. Augustine's.
Join the Altar Guild and help attend to God's holy temple.

Join Our Choir
The Saint A's Choir is a powerful means of enhancing our Sunday worship and creating a strong sense of community among our parishioners. Led by Music Director Diana Norton-Jackson, members practice on Sundays before and after the 9:30 a.m. service.

Diana Norton-Jackson
Music Director
Diana Norton-Jackson received a bachelor's degree in organ from Stetson University and a master's degree in conducting from the University of Georgia. She also completed a further year of graduate work at the School of Sacred Music of Union Theological Seminary in New York, and she studied organ at General Seminary.
Prior to joining St. A's, Diana served as an organist and/or choirmaster at a number of churches throughout Rhode Island and Connecticut. And, as a recitalist, she's performed many organ recitals in cathedrals and churches across the United States.

To the Glory of God
The word liturgy means "the work of the people," and it does indeed take many people to support our worship life at St. A's.
Specifically, we depend on lectors (those who assist in reading scripture) and chalice bearers (those who assist with Holy Communion) to help ensure that Sundays run as smoothly as possible.
If you're interested in volunteering for either of these roles, please e-mail the office.
